What Is a Marketplace?

MarketPush Tackles the Most-Asked Questions About Technology

Technology

My company is not on the cutting edge of technology. Does this mean a marketplace is too complicated for me?

Absolutely not. Having an e-commerce site is the most important piece of the puzzle. The right marketplace SaaS product, like MarketPush, is designed with open APIs that can be configured to any of your internal systems. MarketPush is made up of experienced developers and integrators who work with you to connect all of your systems, ensuring a smooth marketplace implementation.

What kind of technology/IT investment is required to launch a marketplace?

At a minimum, you need an e-commerce front end. Note that if you don’t have one, our sister company can help. You need something that acts as an ERP or OMS and a marketplace SaaS technology (preferably ours). If you have a large product catalog and want to onboard thousands of additional SKUs through a marketplace, a Product Information Management System (PIM) is recommended. But a PIM is not a strict requirement.

Will my existing tools and systems work with my new marketplace?

The MarketPush SaaS marketplace technology meets evolving integration needs by providing GraphQL and RESTful APIs, which can easily integrate with all of your IT systems: ERP, PIM, CRM, and any other back-end systems.

What is your uptime service-level agreement (SLA)?

MarketPush guarantees an industry standard of 99.99% uptime.

How is data security handled?

Strong authentication, including an optional use of multi-factor authentication, helps limit access to authorized users only. Data is encrypted in transit as well as at rest. All data traffic between data centers is protected using IEEE 802.1AE MAC Security Standards. Data at rest includes information that resides in persistent storage on physical media, including file, disk, blob, and table storage. To safeguard customer data, MarketPush adheres to stringent privacy practices.

What migration options are available?

We can migrate data types and business logic schemas, using Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) best practices. Contact Sales for more information.

Where is your data stored?

Data is stored with the Microsoft Azure West U.S. region (California).

Do you meet Safe Harbor Data requirements?

Microsoft provides more than 35 compliance offerings and ensures that data flow helps MarketPush comply with regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act in Canada and HIPAA in the United States. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/compliance/

Is there more than one data center?

Yes, additional zone presence is available if businesses require it.

Do you meet the regulatory standards required? SOC2 compliance, ISO270001, HIPAA, GDPR?

Microsoft Azure complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. For additional information and compliance documentation, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/compliance/.

How do you provide user and application security?

MarketPush uses Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), which categorizes users and manages permissions for each role. Beyond the RBAC model, MarketPush uses groups to categorize users, and only certain permissions can be assigned to the groups. There are three levels of permissions:

  • Page: access to a page or a function.
  • Operation: access to a specific action on a page or within a function. Limited by page permissions.
  • Data: access to specific data on a page or a section.
Who owns my data if I move away?

You own all of the data you create. MarketPush controls the data within the technology but allows you to export any and all of your data that runs through the technology. Data stored in MarketPush represents historical snapshots of business patterns. Besides being essential for compliance, historical data gives us a chance to improve many aspects of our organization and application.

Will we be able to get a copy of our data?

Yes, you have the ability to export all of your data.

How often are backups performed?
  • Incremental backups (only the changes) every 24 hours.
  • Weekly full/complete backups.
What implementation and post-implementation support is available?

Throughout implementation, MarketPush consultants, developers, and project managers constantly document any unique business processes, configurations, and integrations critical to your success. As your implementation nears completion, MarketPush will provide a Client Success Manager to begin learning your business processes.

Though our dedicated support team and knowledge transfer process allow us to provide support, sometimes you want access to the original implementation team. In other organizations, this isn’t possible or would take days or even weeks. Your Client Success Manager is dedicated to helping you succeed and ensures that we meet the agreed-upon SLAs.
